Know How to Travel to India
You will need a Tourist Visa or an e-Visa to join the yoga teacher training in India. The visa duration generally ranges from 30 to 180 days depending on the type you apply for. We recommend applying well in advance through the official Indian visa portal.
The nearest international airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi). From Delhi, you can travel to Rishikesh by domestic flight to Dehradun (Jolly Grant Airport), train, taxi, or bus. We can assist you with directions once your booking is confirmed.
Rishikesh has pleasant weather most of the year. Summers are warm, monsoons are fresh and green, and winters can be cool in the mornings and evenings. Light cotton clothes for summer and a warm layer for winter are recommended.
Bring comfortable yoga clothes, a reusable water bottle, personal toiletries, required medications, a light shawl for meditation, and an open heart ready to learn. Yoga mats are usually provided.
Rishikesh has small grocery stores, Ayurvedic shops, cafes, and ATMs nearby. Most essentials can easily be purchased locally.
Currency exchange services and ATMs are available in Rishikesh and at major airports. It is advisable to carry some Indian Rupees for small local purchases.
India commonly uses Type C, D, and M plug types with 230V supply voltage. We recommend carrying a universal travel adapter.
You can easily purchase a local SIM card at the airport or in town with your passport and visa copy. Major providers include Jio and Airtel.
